Grief, addiction, abuse, life transitions, self-esteem, mood disorders
I believe in empowering others to recognize their own self worth and ability to find solutions.
I received my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Chatham College (now Chatham University) in Pittsburgh, PA. I am a Certified Addictions Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor along with being a Licensed Professional Counselor. My experience working with individuals and families across the lifespan and in various settings treating mood disorders, grief and loss, abuse, adjustment to transitions, and addiction, among other issues, has given me a wide and diverse background. I spent six years treating addiction at agencies including Methadone maintenance (MMTP) as well as working with offenders and as a Care Manager assisting seniors to enroll and receive County benefits. I have had good results treating mood disorders and self-esteem issues. I believe in empathy and building good rapport. I lean towards Person-Centered and Solutions Based therapy, but use an eclectic approach. Apart from counseling, I have a BS in theater performance, and I founded my own community theater company
